Challenging the status quo

Challenging the status quo

Strong is the new pretty.

Women everywhere are choosing to challenge the status quo.

Making power moves and making sure they are heard, recognised and respected.

Of course, there’s still a long way to go before we get the world and our workplaces to reflect the world around us and celebrate what women can bring to the party in a gender equal world.

Just Leggings was formed by women for women.

We celebrate everything that is amazing about women with apparel designed to make the most of your body and make you feel on top of the world.

We take inspiration from the fabulous women who are at the top of their game, challenging expectations and making sure women everywhere realise that there is no one way to fit and fabulous.

Here’s just 5 of the ladies we love:

 JANE FONDA

Jane was one of the first women to rock leotards, legwarmers and leggings! Fitness got funky when Fonda released her workout videos and her first tape (remember VHS?!) quickly became one of the highest selling videos of all time. The famous actress doesn’t just do fitness though. She has dedicated most of her life to social, political, and environmental activism that never ceases to inspire.

 OPRAH

Anyone who is recognised by just their first name must have done something pretty special! The TV star has been so open and honest about her struggles with her weight and she has inspired so many people as she candidly discusses her health challenges. We all feel a bit better knowing that we aren’t the only ones on a journey to health that may have its setbacks.

 SERENA WILLIAMS

Fierce, determined and unapologetic, Serena (and her sister Venus) have forever changed the tennis game. She’s faced down criticisms about her body and her femininity and defending herself on the court – where it matters with a phenomenal 24 Grand Slam titles. Serena is relentless in her focus and as she says, "People are entitled to have their opinions, but what matters most is how I feel about me. You have to love you, and if you don't love you, no one else will.”

 ELLA WOODWARD

Since being diagnosed with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Ella Woodward made the decision to take her health into her own hands. She turned toward a holistic approach eating a whole-food plant-based diet free of refined, processed foods, and wheat, dairy, and refined sugars. Ella’s blog, Deliciously Ella, became her means of working through the diagnosis and it became a phenomenon. The healthy recipe blog that has since expanded to 6 books as well as the Mae Deli in London and Ella proves that sometimes you need to take control of your own health and make the right changes for you.

 CHRISSY TEIGEN

Beautiful, successful and most importantly absolutely hilarious, Chrissy Teigen is not your average model. She is incredibly honest, shares a bit too much and makes you feel like she’s a friend! When it comes to body positivity you don’t get much more real than Chrissy Teigen. She shares everything, from stretch marks to struggles with pregnancy and takes on the internet trolls with gusto. Even better, she’s also got a line of cookbooks that may not always be the healthiest, but they do taste pretty amazing!

Incredible women. Everywhere we look. Who inspires you to challenge the status quo?
