Local entrepreneur turns crisis into opportunity with new business launch

Operating a wedding entertainment business during 2020 wasn’t enough of a challenge for serial entrepreneur Hema Vaghela.

In the face of cancellations, postponements and slimmed down weddings as a result of Covid-19, Hema knew she had to be creative.

Tapping into the skills gained delivering amazing wedding entertainment for couples across London, Hema flipped the script on 2020 and seized an opportunity in the fashion industry.

The London-based business owner, realised that with so many people stuck at home due to the lockdowns, she could offer them a way to be comfortable without compromising on style.

The new website JustLeggings.co.uk is packed with fashion-forward styles that deliver wearers a chic but comfortable alternative to their usual outfits.

The range is constantly being expanded to meet demand and Hema works closely with suppliers to create new styles that are suitable for exercise, lounging or high-fashion, Instagram-worthy looks.

“With most of us at home due to lockdowns and restrictions, I knew I had an opportunity to tap into the rising trend for comfort and style,” explained Hema.

“Working in the wedding business means I have an eye for detail and am meticulous when it comes to project management. All things that have stood me in good stead as I’ve sourced suppliers, negotiated contracts and finally now launched the website.

“I’m a firm believer in being proactive and have always had a can-do attitude. Of course it has been disheartening that so many of our weddings have been postponed, but when all of this is over, we will still be able to bring our happy couples’ visions to life.

“And until then, I’m going to be driving the JustLeggings business forward, expanding into other items that complement the JustLeggings range.”
